Santa Barbara Tree at Night

Sorry to interrupt the flow of Iceland pictures (which had admittedly been on hold). I just got back from an extended trip that included some time in Santa Barbara. I wanted to post one of the pictures I took there just as a reminder that I haven't forgotten about the blog. I'll return back to my Iceland pictures after this.

Like most of the good pictures I took in California, this one is a long night/evening exposure; but this is one of the few that didn't include the ocean. I don't know what kind of trees these were, but they were all over campus and they had a certain appeal to me, especially illuminated underneath by the streetlamps as I walked back from the beach at night. I also noticed (accidentally) that this picture actually looks quite interesting as a negative image -- perhaps like a Japanese painting?
