Sunrise on Silver Lake

Posted on November 27, 2006 to Landscape

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. With the photoblog sitting dormant for almost a month, it's time for a new photo. We spent most of TG break in Rochester, and while I took over 900 pictures, only a handful were taken with the photoblog in mind. You see, I was the official photographer of the 2006 Festival of Trees. Perhaps some pictures from the event will make it here in the next few weeks, as I sort through them all.

As for this photo, it's from a cool Monday morning. Laura once told me that Silver Lake rarely freezes because a power plant empties warm water into it. I don't know if that's true, but it was certainly warm enough to fog on that particular morning even while the weather was unseasonably warm. And yes, I was up for the sunrise!
