Job Search

Many of you may have already heard the big news... we're moving to Missoula, Montana! I have a job in the CS department at the University of Montana, and Laura has a job in the linguistics program. We're excited to be working in the same building, and to be a short 10 minutes away from my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew.
We start in August. Now that "find a job" has been crossed off the list, all that's left now is: finish dissertations, defend, graduate, sell a house, find new housing, move, and prepare classes!
The university has some nice postcards so you can see what western Montana looks like.
Yes! Now I have an excuse to visit Montana, AND a place to stay once I get there! I’m dusting off my fly fishing equipment at this very moment . . .

Missoula is my old home town, the UM my Alma (in a way), and while I really can’t say enough nice things about the town (aside from the rampant alcoholism) the University is a different matter. But enjoy it - go to Greenough park, go to the Farmer’s Market, Kick it at the County Fair, eat the Rocky Mountain oysters. Ahhh damn now I’m homesick and jealous.
I had found your Darwin post, and went to buy a shirt. Figured I’d read the first page of your blog too. Glad I did, as I’m from Missoula and work in an IT job at UM too! What are the odds?
